About Hop

What Hop is, what it is built on, and where it came from.

Hop puts an iPhone-style island at the top of a Windows screen and pairs it with a lightweight clipper. Both apps are free, open source and released under the MIT License.

The two apps

Hop Island shows what is playing, the next prayer, the weather and how your PC is doing, without opening a window. Hop Clipper records the screen in the background so a clip of the last 15 seconds, 30 seconds or minute is one key press away.

They work on their own, and better together: the island shows your newest clips and has a record button for full recordings, and the clipper's settings live in the island's settings app.

Credits

Hop Island began as a port of DynamicIslandWindows by Garv Rao (MIT). Hop Clipper records with FFmpeg. Everything else is listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md.
